Download the GIF
Check the result on the page. Too big? Lower the width or smoothness and run it again.
Questions
How do I get a small GIF?
Keep it under 6 seconds, 320 or 480 px wide, at 10 to 15 frames per second. For Discord, aim for under 10 MB.
Does the GIF keep the sound?
No, the GIF format can't hold sound. If you want sound, pick MP4.
Is it really free?
Yes, completely, with no paid option. No sign-up, no watermark, no file limit. Conversion runs on your computer, so it costs us nothing.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. It's read and converted in your browser and never leaves your computer, not even temporarily.
Why a 30 MB download the first time?
For formats other than MP3 and WAV, the page loads a conversion engine (FFmpeg) that runs in your browser. It's cached afterwards.
Is there a size limit?
No imposed limit. The only limit is your browser's memory: videos of several hundred MB work on a recent computer. For a very large file, use trimming.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on recent Android phones and iPhones, but a computer is much faster for videos.
